ITALY - FIRST ROMAN REPUBLIC

(15.02.1798 - 09.29.1799)

In January 1798, the Management Board is occupy Rome and the rest of the Papal States by an army commanded by Berthier. 15 February was proclaimed the Roman Republic is organized on the French model. Taxes and maintenance of French troops quickly ail the Romans welcome as liberators the Neapolitans in November 1798. After a return of French, the first Roman Republic disappears with the final departure of the French in November 1799.
