Historical background
ITALY - LOMBARDY - VENETIA
(1815-1866)
The Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia is a state dependent on the Austrian Empire. It was created at the Congress of Vienna in 1815 after the fall of Napoleon I and the Kingdom of Italy he had established. This kingdom brought together the Austrian possessions in Italy. It was gradually amputated by the Kingdom of Sardinia as part of the Italian Unification and disappeared in 1866 when the province of Mantua was annexed by the Kingdom of Italy..
