Commentary

Il s’agit de la variété avec étoile plus proche de la tête. Ce type ne fut frappé qu'en 1848. Pour ce millésime des pièces en or de 40 et 20 lires furent aussi fabriquées. Ces monnaies furent mises en œuvre suite au décret du 27 mai 1848 et ne furent démonétisées qu'en 1927, malgré la loi autrichienne de démonétisation en 1848, rendant l'utilisation et la détention de ces pièces illégales.
This is the variety with the star closer to the head. This type was not minted until 1848. For this vintage, 40 and 20 lire gold coins were also produced.
