Très bel exemplaire pour ce type rarissime! Flan large et légèrement irrégulier. Petite perforation au niveau du cou du pape. Les II du VII ont été marqués à l’encre. Belle patine grise de collection

(19/11/1523- 25/09/1534)

Posthumous and illegitimate son of Giuliano de Medici and his last mistress, Fioretta Gorini, Julius de Medici (1478-1534) is the nephew of Lorenzo the Magnificent, and therefore the cousin of Pope Leo X. He tries to counter the influence of Charles Quint. In 1527, Rome was sacked.
