Commentary

Ce type dit “Gunmoney coinage” fut frappé uniquement en 1690. La représentation du roi à cheval n’est pas sans rappeler celles présentes dans le monnayage romain antique où l’empereur rentre de campagne à cheval “adventus”.
This type, called “Gunmoney coinage”, was struck only in 1690. The representation of the king on horseback is reminiscent of those present in ancient Roman coinage where the emperor returns from the campaign on horseback “adventus”.
