Exemplaire sur un petit flan à l’usure importante, mais identifiable. Belle tête de lion. Patine gris foncé, légèrement granuleuse

IONIA - MILETUS
(6th - 5th century BC)
Miletus, founded in the 12th century BC, had been the seat of the Ionian Confederation. During the War of Liberation, it was crushed in 494 BC. Its cult of Apollo was renowned throughout Asia Minor. Its settlers founded, among others, the colonies of Abydos, Cyzicus, Sinope and Panticapaeum.
