Ce type, provenant d’une trouvaille ancienne a parfois été considéré comme douteux à cause de l’aspect glubuleux de la léonté ainsi que l’œil de l’animal qui est traité de la même manière.

IONIA - MILETUS
(6th - 5th century BC)
Miletus, founded in the 12th century BC, had been the seat of the Ionian Confederation. During the War of Liberation, it was crushed in 494 BC. Its cult of Apollo was renowned throughout Asia Minor. Its settlers founded, among others, the colonies of Abydos, Cyzicus, Sinope and Panticapaeum.
