(1754-1759)

Alamgir II (June 6, 1699 - November 29, 1759) (or Azîz ud-Din Âlamgir) was a Mughal emperor from 1754 to 1759. He was the second son of Jahandar Shâh, he was brought to the throne by Ghazi-ud-Din after having deposed Ahmad Shah Bahadur. Accessing the throne, he takes the title of Alamgir and tries to follow the same policy as his illustrious predecessor Aurangzeb Alamgir..
