BRITISH INDIA - PRESIDENCY OF MADRAS

Madras was founded in 1639 and Fort St. George on the coast in 1641. The workshop was first installed in the fort. In 1742 the East India Company obtained the right to make rupees. The pagoda was worth between 36 and 45 fannams or 3.5 rupees.
