Historical background

INDIA - DELHI SULTANATE - MUHAMMAD III BIN TUQHLAQ

(AH 725-752/ 1325-1351)

The Sultanate of Delhi was founded in 1206 (AH 613) and lasted 349 years until 1555 (AH 962). The dynasty of the Tughluqid sultans begins in 1320 with Tughluq Shah I (1320-1325) who imposes Muslim domination over northern India and an important part of the Deccan. The reign of Muhammad Shah II is very long and controversial. He changes capital, abandoning Delhi.
