En 1803, les corsaires français opérant depuis l’Île de France récupèrent d’importantes quantités de monnaies de la Compagnie des Indes Orientales anglaises (East India Company). En 1810, le gouverneur Decaen autorise la mise en circulation de ces monnaies. La monnaie de 20 Cash vaut alors 3 sous.

Mysore is a former princely state in India. It is said to have been founded in 1399 in the vicinity of the modern city of Mysore. The state, ruled by the Odeyar dynasty, was initially a vassal of the Vijayanagara kingdom. With the decline of the latter (around 1565), Mysore became independent.
