Obverse description : Buste rayonnant de profil gauche d’un empereur moghol, peut-être Shah Jahan III ou Alamgir II, coiffé d’un turban duquel dépasse deux palmes retombant à l’arrière, et vêtu d’une tenue d’apparat. Inscription circulaire en arabe mentionnant la date de 1173.

Commentary
Alliage probablement à base d’étain et de cuivre. Fabrication artisanale.
La date de 1173, dans le calendrier de l’Hégire, correpond à 1759 dans le calendrier Grégorien, et pourrait faire référence à la date de mort d’Alamgir II ou bien à au début du règne de Shah Jahan III. Tous deux sont des empereurs moghols. Le règne d’Alamgir II s’étant de 1699 à 1754, et celui de Shah Jahan III de 1759 jusqu’en 1760.

The date 1173 in the Hegira calendar corresponds to 1759 in the Gregorian calendar, and could refer to the death date of Alamgir II or the beginning of the reign of Shah Jahan III. Both were Mughal emperors. Alamgir II reigned from 1699 to 1754, and Shah Jahan III from 1759 to 1760.
