Exemplaire sur un petit flan bien centré des deux côtés court sur la légende de revers. Joli droit de style fin. Revers plus ramassé. Patine grise superficielle

Historical background
ILLYRIA - APOLLONIA
(3rd - 2nd century BC)
Apollonia was a colony of Corcyra, itself a colony of Corinth. The city first suffered the Corinthian influence. It then fell under the Roman protectorate from 229 BC. From 100 BC, it supplanted Dyrrachium and replaced it. The city was famous for the quality of its higher education. Octavian, a student, was in Apollonia when Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC.
