Obverse description : Écu ovale aux armes de Nicolas Lambert, surmonté de la couronne de marquis et soutenu par deux licornes : écartelé aux 1 et 4 : quartier d'azur, à la licorne d'argent naissante de la pointe, au chef d'or chargé de trois merlettes de sable; aux 2 et 3 : d'azur, au sautoir alésé d'or, cantonné de quatre billettes de même.

Commentary

Nicolas Lambert, seigneur de Vermont, prévôt des marchands de 1725 à 1729.
D'abord Conseiller au Parlement (1684), puis président à la seconde chambre des requêtes en 1697, il mourut en exercice en juillet 1729.
Nicolas Lambert, Lord of Vermont, Provost of Merchants from 1725 to 1729. First Councillor to Parliament (1684), then President of the Second Chamber of Requests in 1697, he died in office in July 1729
