Commentary

Biographie très courte dans wikipedia : Nicolas de Bailleul (1586 - 20 août 1652), marquis de Château-Gontier, président du parlement, surintendant des finances de 1643 à 1647; mort en 1652: plus versé dans la connaissance du barreau que dans celle des finances. Il eut sous lui, pour contrôleur général, Michel Particelli d’Émery, connu pour ses déprédations.
A noter, sur des jetons indiscutablement d’époque, l’axe en médaille.
