Commentary

Ce jeton a probablement été posthume car Louis, Marquis de La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, dit Marquis de Roye, né en 1672, décéda à Paris le 6 mai 1751; il avait épousé en1704 Marthe du Casse (décédée le 7 décembre 1743), fille de Jean du Casse et de Marthe Baudry . On doit noter que le buste utilisé confirme son statut imprécis déjà noté dans le Guéant Prieur puisque, là encore, son utilisation ne correspond pas à une chronologie logique. On peut noter également que le coin de buste est fatigué, contrairement à celui de revers, très frais.
This token was probably posthumous because Louis, Marquis de La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, known as Marquis de Roye, born in 1672, died in Paris on May 6, 1751; he had married in 1704 Marthe du Casse (died December 7, 1743), daughter of Jean du Casse and Marthe Baudry. It should be noted that the bust used confirms its imprecise status already noted in the Guéant Prieur since, here again, its use does not correspond to a logical chronology. It can also be noted that the bust corner is tired, unlike that of the reverse, which is very fresh.
