Feuardent ne cite pour ce personnage que des refrappes, qu’il s’agisse du cuivre ou de l’argent. Nous n’avons jamais vu un original.
Personnage emblématique de la Révolution Française, il fut député du Tiers-État aux États Généraux qui la fondèrent et il mourut guillotiné pour avoir refusé d’accabler la Reine à son procès. Il est le Bailly de la célèbre question, alors qu’il attendait d’être guillotiné ”’Tu trembles, Bailly ? — Oui, répond le vieillard avec calme, mais c'est seulement de froid “. An emblematic figure of the French Revolution, he was a deputy of the Third Estate in the Estates General that founded it and he died by guillotine for refusing to condemn the Queen at her trial.
