Son épitaphe était : Noble homme Jean Gaigny, doyen des conseillers, ancien échevin de la ville de Paris, doyen des conseillers du roi, commissaire examinateur au châtelet, décédé le 28 mars 1669, et Marguerite d’Aubray, sa veuve.
