Obverse description : Écu ovale aux armes de Charles Boucher, surmonté de la couronne de marquis et supporté par deux harpies : de gueules, semé de croisettes d'argent, au lion d'or brochant sur le tout.

Commentary


Charles Boucher, seigneur d'Orsay, prévôt des marchands de 1700 à 1708, nommé Conseiller d'Etat en 1709 et décédé le 5 juin 1714 à l'âge de soixante-treize ans, ordonnera la construction d'un quai en pierres de tailles en 1708. Les travaux prendront fin en 1815 et ce quai porte aujourd’hui son nom.
Charles Boucher, Lord of Orsay, Provost of the Merchants from 1700 to 1708, appointed State Councillor in 1709 and who died on 5 June 1714 at the age of seventy-three, ordered the construction of a quay in cut stone in 1708. The work was completed in 1815 and this quay now bears his name.
