Commentary
Médaille attribuée en 1939 à Jean Villault-Duchesnois (1870-1944), avocat au barreau de Caen devenant directeur de cabinet du préfet de la Creuse, puis du préfet de la Vendée. Il deviendra sous-préfet de Valognes en 1897. Il sera élu député pour la Manche de 1901 à 1941 sans discontinuer. Il sera élu sénateur de la Manche en 1927 et 1933, pour une fin de mandat au 31 décembre 1941.

He became sub-prefect of Valognes in 1897. He was elected deputy for Manche from 1901 to 1941 without interruption.
