En 1848, de nombreux pays européens sont touchés par le Printemps des Peuples. Après l’Autriche, la Hongrie se soulève contre l’empereur autrichien. La révolte est réprimée en 1849 par l’arée autrichienne avec l’aide des troupes russes.
