Commentary

Class II is the most stylized; the head is bandaged and the hair marked by four locks. The bull is no longer recognizable at all. The manufacturing is also very basic, close to certain bronzes or Bellovacan gossip

Historical background

HIGH AND MIDDLE SEINE

(2nd - 1st century BC)

Under this term are brought together two large distinct but homogeneous groups, and an isolated potin. A few years ago, all of these coins would have been attributed to the Leuques without a shadow of hesitation. It is the systematic reclassification of emissions that now makes it possible to provide a different hypothesis.
