Commentary
Faulty vintage with 1951. The Saint-Jean-de-Losne mint, like that of Semur, were opened to compete with that of Dijon in the hands of the Leaguers. The Saint-Jean-de-Losne mint adopted the Dijon differentiation, a P, and only struck double sols parisis in the name of Henri IV in 1591. The first double sol parisis of Saint-Jean-de-Losne was published by Doctor Bailhache in the Courrier Numismatique of December 30, 1932, p. 95 and pl. n° 5. Two other examples of this extremely rare coin were published by G. Beneut, “The double sol of Henri IV struck in Saint-Jean-de-Losne”, BSFN, October 1967, p. 199-200
