Ce liard est frappé sur un flan large et légèrement irrégulier. Monnaie recouverte d’une patine grise. Le droit a été frappé avec un coin présentant quelques rayures

Commentary
L’atelier de Sisteron a frappé ce type de liards en 1593 et 1594. La citadelle de Sisteron constituant un verrou sur la Durance et permettait de contrôler le passage en le Dauphiné et la Provence. Henri IV y fit établir un atelier le 7 août 1591, avec dans un premier temps la frappe de doubles sols parisis, mais aussi de douzains (1593 à 1595) et même d’écus d’or (1594) en plus des liards précités. Ces monnaies ne portent pas de différents d’atelier, de maître ou de graveur.
The Sisteron mint struck this type of liard in 1593 and 1594. The Sisteron citadel, acting as a stronghold on the Durance River, controlled passage between Dauphiné and Provence. Henry IV established a mint there on August 7, 1591, initially striking double sols parisis, but also douzains (1593 to 1595) and even gold écus (1594) in addition to the aforementioned liards.
