Commentary
Unpublished vintage for the Chambéry mint. Douzains from this mint are only known for 1601. The archives mention three issues, the first of which is dated January 30, 1601, but nothing for 1600. We do know, however, that liards were struck and issued on December 28, 1600. If the douzain was indeed struck in 1600, it was in December, the city being taken by the troops of Henri IV. The other solution would be to consider this vintage as the result of an engraving error, the private engraver would then have put 1600 instead of 1601. In any case, this coin is sought after and very rare
