Commentary
A particularly rare half-franc (6210 minted), struck in 1594 under the master Jean Malus, bearing as its mint mark a fish or pike head according to our archival research (erroneously interpreted as a mitre by several numismatists). This coin is listed as not found in FRANCIAE IV, no. 4748, p. 359.
