Reverse legend : REPARATIO - REIPVB/ -|S// LVGS.
Reverse description : Gratien, vête militairement debout de face, tourné à gauche, tenant un globe nicéphore de la main gauche et relevant une femme tourelée, agenouillée de la main droite.
Reverse translation : “Reparatio Rei Publicæ”, (Le restaurateur du bien public).

Gratian, born in 359, was appointed august to 8 years. Became "Senior Augustus" after the death of his uncle in 378, he had to share power with his half-brother Valentinian II and Theodosius chose to assist him in the East. He delete 378 of the chamber the statue of Victory pagan reference to him. After the revolt of Magnus Maximus, he fled but was assassinated in Lyon 25 August 383.
