Reverse description : Feb (Apollon) nu debout à gauche, tenant une branche de laurier de la main gauche et une patère de la main droite au-dessus d’un autel paré et allumé.

Gordian III is the grandson of Gordian I and the nephew of Gordian II, ephemeral emperors of the year 238. At the request of the people of Rome, he is chosen as Caesar by Balbin and Pupian and succeeds them after their assassinations.
