Commentary


Rubans de type 2. Ptéryges larges sous la cuirasse. Petit trou de centrage visible des deux côtés. Semble inédit et non recensé avec cette combinaison de buste et de revers.
Type 2 ribbons. Wide pteryges under the cuirass. Small centering hole visible on both sides. Appears unpublished and unrecorded with this combination of bust and lapel

Augustus

Geta, born on May 26, 189, became Caesar in 198 and the following year received the title of pontifex. He accompanies his father and his brother to Brittany from 208 and is raised to Augustat the following year. When Septimius Severus died in York on February 4, 211, the two brothers brought their father's ashes back to Rome and became co-emperors. But they hate each other. Finally, after a year of joint rule, Caracalla kills his brother in their mother's arms. Geta is dedicated to "damnatio memoriæ" (damnation of memory). His supporters are systematically massacred.
