GERMANY - TOWN OF HALL - JOSEPH II

(08/18/1765-02/20/1790)

Joseph II (13/03/1741-20/021790) is the eldest son of Marie-Thérèse of Austria and François III of Lorraine. He received the imperial crown on the death of his father in 1765 and only succeeded to the rest of the possessions on the death of his mother in 1780. Married twice, he had no children and is his brother Leopold II who succeeded him in 1790 at the start of the French Revolution. He is the brother of Marie-Antoinette, the wife of Louis XVI.
