Historical background

GERMANY - PALATINATE - NEUBURG - OTTO AND PHILIP

(1508-1549)

Othon-Henri (+1559) and Philippe (+1548) are the sons of Robert, Prince Loewenstein-Wertheim, collateral branch of the Counts Palatine of the Rhine, descendants of Rudolf I the Stammerer (1294-1319). Othon and Philippe succeeded in Neubourg to Philippe, their grandfather, who died in 1508 and who was Elector Palatine. For Neubourg, it is Othon-Henri who is elector palatine and Frédéric III (1559-1576) succeeds him. From 1614, we will have a house of Neubourg whose first representative is Philippe Louis de Deux Ponts.
