GERMANY - KINGDOM OF WESTPHALIA - JÉRÔME NAPOLÉON

(8/12/1807-26/12/1813)

Jérôme, Napoleon's younger brother, was born on November 15, 1784. The kingdom of Westphalia was tailor-made for him with the remains of Hanover, Brunswick and Hesse-Cassel. On August 22, 1807, Jérôme married Catherine of Württemberg then was named King of Westphalia on December 8, 1807. In 1813, after Leipzig, Jérôme had to abandon his States, which were dismembered. After the Battle of Waterloo, he lived in exile until 1848. Under the Second Empire, Marshal of France, he was President of the Senate and Governor of the Invalides before dying in 1860.
