GERMANY - FREE CITY OF NUREMBERG

Nuremberg became a free city in 1219 and obtained the right to mint coins in 1376, a right confirmed in 1422. The city minted from 1390 until 1806, the year of secularization. That year, the city was attached to the Kingdom of Bavaria.
