Obverse description : Aigle de Brandenbourg debout dans son nid sur un amas rocheux. Le lion suédois grimpe pour l’atteindre. Fond de paysage et soleil rayonnant. Armée en formation dans le fond à droite.

Reverse description : Aigle de Brandenbourg attaquant le lion suédois en fuite. Fond de paysage avec une scène de bataille et soleil rayonnant. Une main tenant un sceptre (dextrochère) sort des nuages. Signé : H. J..

Commentary

Tranche irrégulière, rayures liées à la fabrication. Il s’agit probablement d’une médaille postérieure à l’événement et à sa fabrication, notamment en raison des reliefs mous.
La Suède, par une alliance avec la Pologne, tenta d’entrer en Prusse en passant par la Lituanie en 1678. Cette entreprise se solda par un échec et les suédois furent expulsés de Prusse.
Irregular edge, scratches related to manufacturing. This medal is probably from a later date than the event and its manufacture, particularly due to the soft reliefs. Sweden, through an alliance with Poland, attempted to enter Prussia via Lithuania in 1678. This attempt ended in failure and the Swedes were expelled from Prussia.
