Le Rentenmark (divisé en 100 Rentenpfennig) est introduit le 15 novembre 1923 afin de stopper l’hyperinflation des années 1922 et 1923. Le Rentenmark vaut 1000 milliards de “papiermark”. Son taux de change avec le dollar est fixé à 1 US$ = 4,2 RM. Le Rentenmark participera de manière efficace à l’arrêt de l’hyperinflation et sera peu à peu remplacé à partir de 1924 par le Reichsmark. Il sera échangeable jusqu’en 1948..
