Obverse description : Tête stylisée laurée à gauche, les cheveux en mèches enroulées.

Reverse description : Animal passant à gauche (cervidé) ; entre les jambes du cheval, une flèche avec ses pennes marquées ; au-dessus de l’animal, un oiseau tourné à gauche (corbeau) ; grènetis.

Commentary

Les rares bronzes de ce type connus ont fait l’objet d’une publication de L.-P. Delestrée, D. Hollard et S. Gouet dans les Cahiers Numismatiques de juin 2002. Au total six exemplaires seulement étaient connus.
Cet exemplaire est intéressant avec la flèche entre les jambes du cheval ; ce type correspond au n° 220 de la collection Danicourt, considéré comme une monnaie inédite et unique (ce dernier semble avoir été largement négligé).
The rare bronzes of this type known were the subject of a publication by L.-P. Delestrée, D. Hollard and S. Gouet in the Cahiers Numismatiques of June 2002. In total, only six examples were known. This example is interesting with the arrow between the horse's legs; this type corresponds to No. 220 of the Danicourt collection, considered to be an unpublished and unique coin (the latter seems to have been largely neglected).
