Obverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Obverse description : Tête à gauche, les cheveux entourés d'un cordon perlé terminé par une volute sur la nuque, deux croissants devant le visage et un annelet pointé sous le menton.
Reverse
Reverse legend : [VIIRICIV].
Reverse description : Cheval libre galopant à gauche, un annelet pointé sous la queue ; une ancre entre les jambes.
Commentary
La classe II est bien reconnaissable avec la tête à gauche, mais deux croissants évidés remplacent l’épi de la classe I. Au revers, l’ancre fait son apparition entre les jambes du cheval et sera conservée sur les classes III et IV.
En bord de flan et de frappe molle, la légende est présente, mais difficile à lire.

On the reverse, the anchor appears between the horse's legs and will be retained on Classes III and IV. On the edge of the flan and soft strike, the legend is present, but difficult to read

GALLIA BELGICA PAGUS CATUSLUGI - Sanctuary of BOIS L'ABBÉ (Seine-Maritime)
(1st century BC)
Already in 1977, S. Scheers evoked the idea of a coinage of Pagus for the type VIIRICIVS (op. cit.p.129-130) which recalls the finds of the sanctuary of Bois l'Abbé in Eu (Seine-Maritime) (LPD. p.32-45) where 161 pieces of the 4 classes were discovered and analyzed. These coins, found in large quantities, doubtless constituted cash with a regional vocation (LPD. 1984, p. 65-92). A plaque found on the spot in 1965, near the theater evokes a pagus Catuslugi already mentioned by Pliny (HN. IV, 31).
