Exemplaire sur un flan mince, très large et irrégulier avec les grènetis complets des deux côtés. Usure importante, mais régulière, parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Patine grise avec des reflets métalliques marron

Reverse legend : CONCORDIA AVGG/ -|-// (MASSUE).
Reverse description : Deux Concordes debout face à face, tenant chacune une corne d'abondance ; à l'exergue, la massue est tournée à gauche.
Reverse translation : “Concordia Augustorum”, (La Concorde des augustes).
Commentary
Poids extrêmement léger. Avec son argenture superficielle. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Ptéryges à peine visibles sous le paludamentum. Trace de cassure de coin perceptible dans la légende de revers au niveau de AVGG. Sur cet exemplaire, la massue est tournée à gauche. Nous n’avons pas relevé d’identité de coin pertinente. C’est le onzième exemplaire recensé. Prendra le n° 494g dans le Supplément III du Bastien.

Trace of die breakage perceptible in the reverse legend at the level of AVGG. On this example, the club is turned to the left. We have not noted any relevant die identity. Caesar
Galère is of humble origin. Chosen as Caesar on March 1 or May 1, 293, he was subordinate to Diocletian to help him govern the East. Galerius suffered a crushing defeat in 296 against the Sassanids but the following year he defeated Narses. According to Lactantius, he was at the origin of the persecution of Christians in 302-303. During Diocletian's illness, he pushes the latter to abdicate. Diocletian and Maximian leave power on May 1, 305 to Galerius and Constance, who become augusts. The last six years of his life, he watched helplessly as the political regime created by Diocletian: the Tetrarchy crumbled. He died on May 5, 311 after having interrupted the persecution against Christians five days earlier..
