Cet écu d’or est frappé sur un flan large et légèrement irrégulier. Exemplaire présentant des reliefs particulièrement nets sur les deux faces. Quelques lis de la croix du revers apparaissent en négatif au droit

Type monétaire assez rare frappé au début du règne de François Ier dans un nombre limité d’ateliers. Seuls 82 écus ont été mis en boîte en 1515 à Lyon, donnant une quantité frappée de seulement 16.400 exemplaires.
