Cette 50 Euro en argent a cours légal mais uniquement en France.
La série 2014 a été conçue par le dessinateur Sempé et se décline en quatre fois trois pièces de 10 Euro “Liberté”, “Égalité” et “Fraternité”:
- printemps (sortie juin 2014)
- été (sortie juin 2014)
- automne (sortie septembre 2014)
- hiver (sortie septembre 2014)

Le dessinateur Sempé a choisi pour illustrer ces trois valeurs fondamentales de la République, le vecteur du vélo à travers un homme (Liberté), un couple (Égalité) et des enfants (Fraternité).

La série 2014 se complète par trois autres pièces:
