De rite de Écossais. Jean-Jacques Cambacéres (1753-1824) fut second Consul de 1802 à 1805. Il sera l’un des principaux artisans du code napoléonien. Franc-maçon, il participera à faire initier les grands noms de l’Armée et de l’aristocratie. Cette médaille est frappée pour célébrer son élévation à la Grande Maîtrise de la Mère Loge Écossaise de France le 30 mars 1807. Cette médaille à son effigie aurait été destinée à la loge..
example reserved for the engraver of the Scottish Rite. Jean-Jacques Cambacéres (1753-1824) was Second Consul from 1802 to 1805. He was one of the main architects of the Napoleonic Code. A Freemason, he participated in the initiation of the great names of the Army and the aristocracy. This medal was struck to celebrate his elevation to the Grand Mastery of the Mother Scottish Lodge of France on March 30, 1807. This medal bearing his image would have been intended for the lodge.
