Commentary
La ville d'Ypres, prise par les Français en 1648, 1658 et 1678 fut cédée à Louis XIV suite au traité de Nimègue. Après avoir été reprise par les Impériaux, la ville tomba de nouveau aux mains des Français en 1744, pendant la guerre de Succession d'Autriche. Les Français perdirent définitivement Ypres en 1747.
