Commentary


En 1809, par le traité de Fredrikshamm, le Suède cède la Finlande au Tsar Alexandre Ier. Le Grand-Duché de Finlande devient un territoire autonome dont le Grand-Duc est le tsar. A la chute du Tsar Nicolas II en 1917, sous le gouvernement Kerenski, les monnaies perdent leur couronne à l’avers.
In 1809, by the Treaty of Fredrikshamm, Sweden ceded Finland to Tsar Alexander I. The Grand Duchy of Finland became an autonomous territory with the Grand Duke as Tsar. With the fall of Tsar Nicholas II in 1917, under the Kerensky government, the coins lost their crown on the obverse.
