Commentary
Beware of fakes used to serve as a period piece, which can still deceive a modern collector. A very dangerous example photographed in a private collection, and from the same manufacturer as this one, was published by Stéphane Desrousseaux in La monnaie en circulation en France sous Napoléon, Paris, 2012, page 164
