Coments on the condition:
Monnaie légèrement décentrée. Très beau buste de Faustine, bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers. Patine grise avec de légers reflets bleutés

Obverse description : Buste drapé de Faustine jeune à droite, avec un chignon ramené derrière la tête, vu de trois quarts en avant (L).
Obverse translation : “Faustina Augusta”, (Faustine augusta).

Reverse


Reverse legend : MATRI - MAGNAE/ S|C.
Reverse description : Cybèle, tourélée et drapée, assise à gauche, tenant une branche de cyprès de la main droite, le coude appuyé sur un tambour à ses pieds, un lion.
Reverse translation : “Matri Magnæ”, (À la Grande mère, Cybèle).

Augusta

Young Faustina, the daughter of Antoninus and Faustina Mother, was born between 128 and 132. She married Marc Aurèle in 145 and received the title of augusta in 146. She had thirteen children, seven of whom survived childhood. A very important coinage is struck until his death in 175 in Halala at the foot of Mount Taurus in Cappadocia.
