Obverse description : Buste drapé de Fausta à droite, les cheveux retenus par un petit chignon, vu de trois quarts en avant (L*2).

Obverse translation : “Flavia Maxima Fausta Augusta”, (Flavie Maxima Fausta augusta).

Reverse legend : SALVS REI-PVBLICAE/ -|-// SIRM.

Reverse description : Salus ou Fausta voilée et drapée, debout de face, regardant à gauche, tenant deux enfants dans ses bras.

Reverse translation : “Salus Reipublicæ”, (La Santé du bien public).

Commentary

C’est la seule représentation de Fausta pour l’atelier de Sirmium. Ce type est en fait beaucoup plus rare que ne le, laissent paraître les ouvrages généraux.
This is the only representation of Fausta for the Sirmium workshop. This type is in fact much rarer than general works suggest.
