Commentary

The legal legend is a mixture of Corre 941 and 942.
This token bears two premonitory symbols in this year 1787: the pyramid and the beam.

MDCCLXX. \\\"Passionate about the translation of English medical works, Edme-Claude Bourru, a devoted and esteemed doctor, excited by botanical culture and literature, will defend during his degree, several noted theses, such as the organization of hair and the demonstration that the use of wine can be permitted to those who play the horn and the bugle.
In 1786 he was appointed dean of the faculty of medicine and married the daughter of Ambroise Rousseau, a lawyer in parliament, with whom he had two children, Claude-Félicité-Hippocrate and Galien, both of whom died in infancy..
Having never accepted the removal of the old books from the school library, Edme-Claude Bourru resigned from his post and was replaced by Doctor Nicolas Jeanroy who proceeded with the installation of the books in the old law schools on rue de Beauvais..
He is the author of a eulogy for Doctor Guillotin, see http://fr. Wikipedia. org/wiki/Edme-Claude_Bourru
