BISHOPRIC CORK - MAXIMILIEN HENRI DE BAVARIA

(1650-1688)

Maximilian Henry of Bavaria succeeded Ferdinand of Bavaria in 1650. In 1675, the citadel of Liege was taken by the French destroying fortifications before leaving the city in 1676. The Duchy of Bouillon is occupied by the troops of the King of France who transmits to the family of La Tour d'Auvergne. After the bishopric of Maximilian Henry of Bavaria, a period of vacancy opened on 5 June in the month of October 1688 before Jean Louis Elderen became prince-bishop of Liège.
