A test of a monometallic 2 euro coin struck by the Birmingham Mint. The Birmingham Mint was originally awarded the contract to mint the Netherlands' 2 euro coins. The Birmingham Mint has since gone bankrupt and no longer mints euros. The company used to strike tests on monometallic blanks. These coins appear to have served as a test for the edge inscriptions. It is currently estimated that 100 of these monometallic tests were minted.
