Reverse legend : [GLORIA RO-MANORVM]/ -|+// [...].
Reverse description : L’impératrice assise de face sur un trône, la main sur sa poitrine, couronnée par la main de Dieu.
Reverse translation : “Gloria Romanorum”, (La gloire des Romains).


Poids très léger. Rubans de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Chevelure très élaborée. La marque d’atelier n’est pas identifiable sur cet exemplaire.

Arcadius mother of Theodosius II - Augusta (395-404)

Aelia Eudoxia, the daughter of Bauto, outspoken leader who played a role in the reign of Theodosius. She married Arcadius in 395 and had a considerable influence on her husband. After the birth of Theodosius II in 401, it favored the break between Arcadius and his brother Honorius. Before his death in 403 or 404, it virtually assured power. Her husband survived her four years.
